   1. Someone who has walked the path you want to walk
   2. Someone who has it together
2. Proven experience
   1. Never receive counsel from unproductive people
   2. What do I need to know for the next 10 years? (when you are talking to someone who is 10 years older)
3. Successful
   1. Don’t take financial advice from someone who isn’t extremely wealthy
   2. Don’t take marriage advice from someone who has been divorced 3 times
4. Teachability
   1. They have a teaching spirit
   2. They continue to learn
   3. Someone who is open and honest about the failures in your life
   4. Their story = challenge, change, celebration
